CALIFORNIA Association OF PARK AND Recreation

Commissioners AND BOARD MEMBERS
2012 Tentative Educational Tour Schedule
These are guided visits to California’s exciting, unique environs of leisure, fun, beauty, and culture designed for park and recreational commissioners and board members to learn about environmental, transportation, exhibition, volunteer, financial, and organizational issues, practices, and problems, any of which may be applicable to their own municipal volunteer responsibilities. Their duration is usually two to four days.
Visits planned for 2012 include:
Anza–Borrego Area – April 21-22
Channel Islands – June
Monterey & Environs - August
San Francisco – Redwood Country - October
Tours are accompanied by directors of the California Association of Parks and Recreation Commissioners and Board Members (CAPRCBM) and hosted by rangers, docents, guides, and specialists in the areas visited. This is a special “behind the scenes” opportunity for CAPRCBM members throughout the state, as well as professionals and park & recreation aficionados. Successful past tours include parks & attractions along the Pacific Coast, Channel Islands, and San Diego. In October, a trip to the gold country and Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings National Parks is planned.
