 Paul became Executive Director of CAPRCBM in August, 2008. Prior to assuming this position, he retired from California State Parks where he served for 4 years as Chief Deputy Director. Paul has been a park professional beginning in 1970 and began his career with the City of Long Beach Parks Department. In 1984 he became Director of Parks and Recreation for the County of Riverside; and, in 1995 he was appointed Parks Director for the County of Santa Clara. Paul is very active in professional organizations and has received numerous state and national awards. In 2005 he was elected to the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration. He is currently Legislative Chairperson for California Park and Recreation Society.
A resident of California most of his life, Paul graduated of California State University, Long Beach, and was named the Distinguished Alumnus from the College of Natural Sciences in May 1993. He is married to Joanne and has two sons and three grand-daughters. In his spare time, Paul is an avid photographer and enjoys spending time with his family. |
