North
Steve Hoagland, Bay Point
Steve Hoagland is involved in community service throughout Contra Costa County.  In 2006, Steve ran and won his first term on the Ambrose Recreation and Park District Board of Directors. He is serving his second elected term which ends in 2014. In addition, this year Steve was elected Chair of the Board of Directors by his fellow board members. He was elected to the board of directors for the California Association of Parks & Recreation Commissioners and Board Members (CAPRCBM).

Steve is married to Annette, father of Amanda and Steven, Papa to Catalina, David and Daniel. He is active in Boy Scouts of America and is a Silver Beaver Recipient in 2010. Steve is a  District Award of Merit recipient from Boy Scouts in 2005. In addition, he is the founder of AdvanceCamp in 1999 which now celebrates its 13th event. Steve is an Eagle Scout from 1974 from Boy Scout Troop 267 of Concord.

Robert Doi, Visalia
Robert Doi was appointed to the City of Visalia, Parks and Recreation Commission in November, 2010.  Robert worked for the City of Visalia in the Engineering Dept and the Parks Division from 1984 through 1994. In 1994 he went to work for the City of Tulare as the Parks Development and Operations Manager until December of 2009 when he retired.

In addition to his background in parks and recreation, Robert has experience in civil engineering, trail, parks,
buildings development/construction, Irrigation design and construction, and project management. Robert has lived in Visalia for more than 50 years where he was involved and experienced the growth of parks and recreational opportunities. Robert is a graduate of Leadership Visalia 1988, Graduate of the Southwest Maint. Management School 1995/96, Agricultural Advisory Committee Member 1994 (Golden West High School), Board of Regent (Pacific Southwest Maint. Management School 1997-1998) and a Member of C.P.R.S. for over 20 years.

Katrina Manning, Hawthorne
Katrina Manning is deeply involved in community service on many fronts.  In 2011, Mayor Guidi appointed her as a commissioner to the City of Hawthorne’s Board of Parks & Recreation.   She was elected to the board of directors for the California Association of Parks & Recreation Commissioners and Board Members (CAPRCBM).  Manning also serves as a member of Hawthorne’s Economic Development Board, and as board member and current vice president of the Holly Park Homeowners Association (HPHA).   
Manning founded and produced HPHA’s “Annual National Night Out” in 2010 and 2011, a community event sponsored by Target Corporation.   She is a member of the Citizen's Advisory Council for the 51st A.D. and chairperson of Jack and Jill of America Group II, Inglewood Chapter 2011.  She serves as Wilkie Avenue block captain in her own neighborhood.  Additionally, Manning volunteers regularly at the South Bay One Stop Youth & Career Center and at the City of Hawthorne Teen Center, where
she mentors teens and teaches financial literacy and job interviewing skills.

Alene Harris, Carson
Alene B. Harris is married to Ben Harris and they have two daughters and two lovely grandchildren. She has lived in Carson for past 40 years and retired Manager of (37 Yrs) with Chevron Corporation in El Segundo, CA. Alene was named as the 2010 female Democratic of the Year, receiving the Eleanor & Roosevelt Award. She is a community activist and involved in many organizations such as 2nd VP of Carson Women's Club (award scholarships to high school students), 2010, appointed as an advisory board member of Millennium Momentum Foundation, Inc.

Alene Harris was born and raised in Mississippi, graduated from Alcorn A & M University in Lorman, Mississippi with a BS degree in Business Education. Alene knew she had a special gift for wanting to help others through her volunteer work during her teenage years at a Mississippi convalescent home assisting the elderly. She believes that being a volunteer is the American way of life, volunteering is an unselfish act and makes a difference in people's lives. Through the years she has become an active member in several community-based organizations, which allows her to full-fill her passion to help others. Alene was appointed to Carson, Citywide Advisory Commission for two years, Parks & Recreation Commissions for two years. In 2011 - 2013, she was voted in by her peers as the Chairperson for Parks & Recreations Commission.

Alene is most proud of her work as joint CEO of Clear Blessings Inc. Clear Blessings is a non-profit organization that works with at-risk children ages 4-12 years old. The goal is to mentor, and to educate young boys and girls to become great leaders in their communities. Alene also was a girl scout leader for eighteen 18 years in the city of Carson. I have always taught the young children to "Empower their Dreams," by reaching for the sky.

She also finds time to traveling with her family to exotic places such as Paris, France; Sydney, Austria; Rome, Italy & many others.
