Scholarships awarded by CAPRCBM

Three scholarships are awarded annually that include the CAPRCBM Annual Scholarship, Richard and Betty Teague Memorial Scholarship and the Charles Kaufman Family Scholarship. Although the award amount may vary, the current monetary award is $2000 per scholarship.  Applications for each of these scholarships can be obtained at www.sjsu.edu/hrtm/docs/Scholarship_application_2007-2008.pdf and scholars are selected by the California Foundation by Parks and Recreation. A member of CAPRCBM participates in selecting and awarding the scholarships.

The CAPRCBM scholarship is funded by donations of members, including past presidents, and through monies collected from the Association booth at the CPRS Conference Exhibit Hall.  A trust established by the family of Richard and Betty Teague funds the “Memorial Scholarship”.  Richard Teague was a founder and past president of CAPRCBM.  In 2008, Charles and Kathy Kaufman established a family scholarship based on their belief that a good education is the underpinning of a strong society. The Board of Directors and Past Presidents of CAPRCBM are proud to offer these scholarships to deserving students that intend to make Parks and Recreation their career objective.

Awarded at our last annual Banquet:
